What is The School of House?
The School of House is the new education platform for Dance culture. Our aim is to gather practical and theoretical knowledge about the Dance culture, in order to pass on this knowledge in an inspiring way. TSOH connects topical issues with the cultural legacy and combines theory with practice. Leading industry professionals play an important role in our educational program. For they are the experts on this dynamic cultural industry!
TSOH is the hub in a widespread Dance network. Our ambassadors, lecturers and guest speakers are among the movers and shakers of the Dance and offer a vast body of experience. Time and again they affirm in our classes that a good network is essential for (starting) a career in Dance. Therefore TSOH proactively connects supply and demand in terms of knowledge, practical experiences, internships, challenges and jobs.
What does The School of House offer?
TSOH developed a comprehensive educational program. Our Courses (6 to 24 weeks, one weekly evening class) and Masterclasses (one day or evening) cover all aspects of dance culture and are divided into three sections: Event & Organisation, Music Creation & Production, DJ Performance & Industry. View our educational program here.
Our network is the backbone of TSOH program. In order to expand, improve and sustain our network TSOH has partners that are leading in the field of Education (ROC Amsterdam, NHTV Breda), Culture (Kunstbende, CJP), and the Creative Industries (ID&T, Open House, Ableton).
TSOH develops and provides informative and inspiring activities, such as events, (brand) activations and consultancy. Among our clients are The Kingdom of the Netherlands; The Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science; the City of Amsterdam; SAIL Amsterdam; the Next Web.
TSOH provides a unique combination of theory and practice, where prominent guest speakers from the Dance industry play a key role. DJs, producers and organisers – from pioneers to young guns, and from underground to mainstream – talk passionately about their world.
Students gain valuable knowledge of the everyday practices within the industry and are offered outlooks. They are themselves challenged to come up with questions and ideas. TSOH also opens up its network to generate work experience, internships or even jobs for the most talented participants.
