DJ Performance & Industry

In the Course DJ Performance & Industry we take a closer look at the world of the DJ.

The first part of this course is mainly focused on the craftsmanship. Top DJs and connoisseurs share their vision on the development from the anonymous record player into a 21st century pop star, and how they have made their hobby into a profession. In addition, they unravel the magic of the DJ set and discuss the role of technology on the craft.

In the second part of the series the position of the DJ in the Dance industry is discussed. The professionalisation and upscaling offer new possibilities, but at the same time require different skills. Only rocking the club on Saturday night is not enough anymore: DJ-ing has become a full-time job. We will discuss issues such as bookings and management, but also how these have changed as a result of digitalisation. The online profile is the calling card of a DJ. Participants receive professional feedback on their artist profile and learn how they can stand out and be distinctive.

Finally, we look at entrepreneurship in the Dance Industry. Learn from successful artists on how you can get the most out of your career: inside and outside of the booth!
